Helen Keller Necklace
"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart."
This beautifully eloquent quotation is from a letter sent to the Reverend Phillips Brooks in 1891 appealing for funds to send a poor deaf blind boy, Tommy Stringer, to the Perkins School. She was only eleven years old at the time. She was also Blind and deaf and with the help and love of her teacher Anne Sullivan of the Perkins Institute for the Blind went on to become one of the most inspirational American Woman of the 20th Century. Both Helen and Anne's ashes have been interred in the Washington National Cathedral.
